The Objective

  • Modern businesses and software engineering practices work in an iterative way, where the notion of steel thread engineering comes in.

  • The objective for Vault Insurance was to build software that serves a purpose, provides a return on investment to the business, and is robust, efficient, adaptable, and self-contained.

  • We built Spring Boot services from a base template and let them evolve independently.

 

The Challenge

  • Define & Implement Enterprise Technology Strategy for Vault Insurance

The Solution

TransformHub configured the below-mentioned technology stacks across all the environments, followed by Jenkins that will build feature branches of configured services, SonarQube will analyze code, and services will be deployed in runtime configuration.

KeycloakTechnology strategy includes 3 main components:

1. Backend Scalability
 
  • Backend platforms can be quickly snapped into the ecosystem.
  • Standard services such as application and policy creation, modification, and servicing are mapped to the integration layer.
  • New verticals are efficiently dropped into the network.
  • New markets, whether greenfield or acquisition, can benefit from already implemented platforms or have their new solutions integrated.
  • Both new verticals and new markets will benefit from standard third-party services and the common user experience.
2. Third party services & content
 
  • Each third-party service is standardized such that all Vault systems communicate with them the same way.
  • If a third-party service needs to be upgraded or replaced, can be carried out independent of the products using the services.
  • Vault Insurance can build and deploy its own fit for purpose services and share them with all products. This includes how we generate and index documents, how we collect digital signatures, and how customers and agents are notified through multiple digital channels.
3. User Experience

  • Easy to use, easy to understand, and an experience that is the same throughout all platforms.
  • Vault portals communicate through the standardized APIs provided by the integration layer.
  • By using APIs, the portals and other front ends will be guaranteed to get accurate, real-time data from all back-ends in the Vault ecosystem.
  • The technical adjustments that will come as Vault Insurance grows and changes can be accomplished independently from the user interfaces that deliver services.
