The Objective

  • To create a centralized data repository to store, consolidate, and standardize data from all sources in Vault’s tech ecosystem (e.g., policy administration systems, claims systems, billing systems).

  • There will be two types of centralized data repositories: an Operational Data Store (ODS) followed by a Datawarehouse (DWH) to facilitate reporting and analytics.

The Solution

TransformHub developed an Integration service platform, which connects with third-party systems and periodically populates data into the Production system.
 
  • Single endpoint to notify the hub of change. Take care of scenarios where data is altered from within an integrated systems UI.
  • Define strategy for internal & external identity management.
  • Determine a strategy for Client credentials and user credentials.
  • The design security model for all identity types and underlying roles.
  • Determine API publication workflow, API versioning strategy, and API monitoring.
  • Define API pipeline architecture
  • Define the full schema of DB

The Results

  • The Core database will act as a hub for all service-level API calls.
  • The Core database can be seen as an initial landing ground for all of Vault’s data: data pipelines from source systems are pointed directly to ODS.
  • The Core database will also plug into Vault’s messaging framework to allow systems to call and send data with APIs.
